On 09 November 2024, 8:00 AM, the Low Pressure Area east of Southern Luzon developed into a Tropical Depression
NIKA. At 5:00 PM, NIKA has intensified into a Tropical Storm. At 11:00 PM, NIKA further intensified as it moves westward
over the Philippine Sea east of Bicol Region. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Isabela, Quirino, the
eastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, the eastern portion of Nueva Ecija, the eastern portion of Bulacan, the eastern
portion of Quezon, including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and the northeastern portion
of Albay.
On 10 November 2024, 5:00 AM, NIKA intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm. At 11:00 AM, NIKA maintained its
strength as it moves westward over the Philippine Sea east of Quezon. At 2:00 PM, NIKA slightly intensified over the
Philippine Sea east of Quezon. At 8:00 PM, NIKA slightly decelerated over the Philippine Sea east of Aurora. Tropical
Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 was raised over the southeastern portion of Isabela and the northern portion of Aurora.
On 11 November 2024 at 5:00 AM, NIKA intensified into a Typhoon over the sea east of Aurora. Tropical Cyclone Wind
Signal No. 4 was hoisted. At 8:10 AM, based on all available data including from Baler Weather Radar, the center of the
eye of Typhoon NIKA (TORAJI) has made landfall in the vicinity of Dilasag, Aurora and now traversing Northern Luzon. At
2:00 PM, NIKA is over Cordillera Administrative Region. At 8:00 PM, NIKA weakens into a Severe Tropical Storm and is
now over the coastal waters of Ilocos Sur.
On 12 November at 5:00 AM, further weakens as it moves northwestward over the west Philippine Sea. Tropical Cyclone
Wind Signal No. 1 was hoisted.
